Rupert Bartsch is a medical oncologist at the Medical University of Vienna who focuses on brain metastases from breast cancer. He was first author of the 2022 Nature Medicine report of TUXEDO-1, a single-arm phase 2 trial in which trastuzumab deruxtecan produced intracranial responses in most patients with active brain metastases from HER2-positive breast cancer, evidence that the antibody-drug conjugate works in the brain.
