Italian oncologist who leads histology-specific trials in ultra-rare sarcomas and the Connective Tissue Oncology Society.
Overview
Silvia Stacchiotti has led trials of targeted agents in individual rare sarcoma histologies including alveolar soft part sarcoma, solitary fibrous tumour, chordoma, epithelioid haemangioendothelioma and desmoid tumours, establishing the histology-driven model of sarcoma medical oncology. She co-leads the Italian Rare Cancer Network and the European Reference Network EURACAN sarcoma domain and has been president of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society.
