HPV vaccination programme in Spain

WHO's immunization data record HPV vaccine as introduced in Spain in 2007. In the 2025 data the introduction is recorded as nationwide and the country reports a one-dose schedule. The routine schedule reported to WHO for 2025 gives two doses of bivalent or nine-valent or quadrivalent vaccine to girls and boys at age 12, the later dose 6 months after the previous dose. The country's note in the WHO schedule table reads: "2, 4, 9 valent vaccines administered; females only at 12 yrs or 6th grade (regions that immunize at school) -since 2023 in males too-". WHO also lists additional doses for risk groups or catch-up cohorts in the same table. For hepatitis B vaccine, WHO records the birth dose as given to risk groups only in 2025.
