Overview
Insys Therapeutics, founded in 1990 and based in Chandler, Arizona, developed Subsys, a fentanyl sublingual spray approved for breakthrough pain in opioid-tolerant cancer patients, and a dronabinol oral solution. Its executives were convicted in 2019 over kickbacks to prescribers, and the company filed for bankruptcy the same year. Its phase 3 trials in cancer pain remain on ClinicalTrials.gov under Insys as lead sponsor.
