Pharmacosmos
Pharmacosmos is a Danish family-owned company specialising in intravenous iron; its iron isomaltoside (Monofer) treats the anaemia that chemotherapy and cancer itself cause, and it leads phase 3 trials in that setting.
Overview
Pharmacosmos A/S, founded in 1965 and based in Holbæk, Denmark, develops carbohydrate chemistry and intravenous iron products. Its iron isomaltoside 1000 (Monofer, ferric derisomaltose in the United States) is given as a single high-dose infusion for iron deficiency anaemia, including in patients with cancer, and the company has run phase 3 trials in cancer-related anaemia registered on ClinicalTrials.gov.
