Overview
Takara Bio Inc., founded in 2002 and based in Kusatsu, Shiga, sells research reagents and contract manufactures viral vectors and cell therapies. Its own pipeline includes the oncolytic herpes simplex virus canerpaturev (C-REV), tested in phase 2 and 3 in pancreatic cancer and melanoma, and TCR- and CAR-engineered T cells developed with Japanese academic groups. Its trials are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under Takara Bio as lead sponsor.
