VasGene Therapeutics
VasGene is a Los Angeles biotech developing a soluble EphB4 decoy protein that starves tumours of blood supply and reawakens immune cells, tested with checkpoint inhibitors in bladder and head and neck cancer.
Overview
VasGene Therapeutics, based in Los Angeles and spun out of the University of Southern California, develops sEphB4-HSA, a soluble EphB4 receptor fused to albumin that blocks ephrin-B2 signalling on tumour vessels and immune cells. It has been tested with pembrolizumab in urothelial cancer and in head and neck cancer, and is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under VasGene as lead sponsor of a phase 3 trial.
