ADEPT-STAR-NET-1 is an experimental cell therapy from Expression Therapeutics for neuroendocrine tumours. It has not yet been tested in people.
ADEPT-STAR-NET-1 is Expression Therapeutics' lead cancer programme. The company reports that STAR-NET-1 gives unmodified gamma-delta T cells potent killing of SSTR2-positive cells in the femtomolar range and eradicated spheroids grown from gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumour samples in its laboratory model. No registered trial was found.
Autologous gamma-delta T cells programmed with the LENTeT gene transfer system to secrete STAR-NET-1, a CD3 epsilon by SSTR2 bispecific T-cell engager, so that both the infused cells and the patient's own T cells attack SSTR2-bearing tumour cells, as described by Expression Therapeutics. Connects to Somatostatin receptor 2.
