The regional cancer centre for northern France, known for paediatric oncology, sarcoma, gynaecological cancers and radiotherapy.
The Centre Oscar Lambret is the UNICANCER comprehensive cancer centre for the Hauts-de-France region, serving one of the most cancer-burdened populations in France. It runs a large radiotherapy department with brachytherapy and stereotactic programmes, paediatric and adolescent oncology, sarcoma and rare tumour services, and an early-phase trials unit. Research is carried out with the Université de Lille and Inserm within the ONCOLille institute, with themes in tumour dormancy, chemoresistance and cancer epidemiology. The centre co-leads regional cancer screening and prevention work.
