European Hematology Association

aka EHA

Europe's haematology society, whose June congress is the second global venue for blood cancer trials and whose guidelines and curriculum shape European haematology.

Founded in 1992, EHA represents haematologists across Europe and beyond, with its annual congress each June attracting more than 15,000 delegates and presenting major leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma data alongside ASH. It publishes HemaSphere, issues clinical guidelines and the European Hematology Curriculum, runs research fellowships and the EHA-ASH Translational Research Training in Hematology programme, and advocates in Brussels on medicines regulation, rare diseases and research funding. Its Scientific Working Groups on CLL, myeloma, AML, MDS and lymphoma link the national cooperative groups such as HOVON, GIMEMA and the German study groups.
