Bologna's university hospital, home of the Seràgnoli haematology institute and a leading Italian centre for myeloma, lymphoma and CAR-T.

The Policlinico Sant'Orsola is the university hospital of the world's oldest university and an IRCCS for transplant and oncology. Its Seràgnoli Institute of Haematology, associated with Michele Cavo (myeloma), Pier Luigi Zinzani (lymphoma) and the GIMEMA cooperative group, has run pivotal Italian trials in myeloma transplantation and lymphoma and is one of Italy's principal CAR-T and allogeneic transplant centres. Medical oncology under Andrea Ardizzoni is active in thoracic and gastrointestinal trials, and the hospital has large paediatric oncology, surgical oncology and nuclear medicine departments. The Emilia-Romagna regional network links it with IRST Meldola.
