Ghent's OECI-accredited university cancer centre, known for neuroblastoma genomics, early-phase trials and immuno-oncology.
The Cancer Centre of Ghent University Hospital is accredited by the OECI and works with the Cancer Research Institute Ghent (CRIG), which federates cancer research across Ghent University, the hospital and VIB. Frank Speleman and Katleen De Preter's groups have made major contributions to the genomics of neuroblastoma and the role of MYCN and ALK, and the Drug Research Unit Ghent under Sylvie Rottey is one of Belgium's most active phase 1 sites. Clinical strengths include head and neck and thoracic oncology, urology, melanoma immunotherapy and paediatric haemato-oncology. The hospital runs a regional radiotherapy programme and molecular tumour board.
