Inge M. van der Sluis
Dutch paediatric oncologist who led the study showing that adding one course of blinatumomab to chemotherapy sharply improves survival for babies with KMT2A-rearranged leukaemia.
Overview
Inge van der Sluis is a paediatric oncologist at the Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht. She was first author of the 2023 New England Journal of Medicine report of the Interfant pilot study in which a single 28-day course of the bispecific antibody blinatumomab added to Interfant-06 chemotherapy gave two-year disease-free survival of over 80 percent in infants with KMT2A-rearranged acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, far higher than historical controls. She also studies asparaginase pharmacology.
