Florida leukaemia doctor who led the phase 3 trial of CPX-351, the liposomal form of daunorubicin and cytarabine that lengthened survival for older people with secondary acute myeloid leukaemia.
Overview
Jeffrey Lancet chairs the malignant haematology department at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. He was first author of the 2018 Journal of Clinical Oncology report of the phase 3 trial in which CPX-351, a liposomal fixed-ratio formulation of daunorubicin and cytarabine, improved overall survival compared with standard 7+3 induction in patients aged 60 to 75 with newly diagnosed secondary AML, the basis of the drug's approval.
