Shahid A. Khan
Hepatologist who documented the rise of cholangiocarcinoma in the UK and senior author of the 2023 British Society of Gastroenterology guideline that sets out how NHS teams should diagnose and manage it.
Overview
Shahid Khan is professor of practice in hepatology at Imperial College London and a consultant at Imperial College Healthcare since 2007. His research traced the increase in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma in the UK. He chairs Cholangiocarcinoma-UK and was senior author of the British Society of Gastroenterology guidelines for the diagnosis and management of cholangiocarcinoma (Gut 2023), the UK reference for biliary MDTs.
