FluoGuide makes an injected dye that makes cancer glow under near-infrared light during an operation, so surgeons can see what to remove. It is being tested in brain tumour surgery in the US.
FluoGuide A/S, of Copenhagen, Denmark, is a clinical-stage company whose lead product FG001 is a near-infrared fluorescent imaging agent targeting uPAR, given intravenously before surgery to highlight tumour tissue. The company reports proof of concept in head and neck cancer, squamous non-small cell lung cancer and high-grade glioma, a collaboration with Intuitive Surgical on robotic-assisted head and neck surgery, work on using FG001 for photothermal therapy, and a SEK 60 million financing in 2024. Its US phase 2 trial (NCT07609472) tests a single dose of FG001 in 76 planned patients with newly diagnosed high-grade glioma, measuring tumour-to-background contrast and near-complete resection on MRI; the company enrolled its first patient in October 2026. Its shares were moving from Spotlight to Nasdaq First North in 2026. Its first registered study on ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT07609472, was posted in May 2026.
