Isarna, formerly Antisense Pharma, is a Munich company whose TGF-beta2 antisense drug trabedersen was tested directly into brain tumours in phase 3 for high-grade glioma before the programme moved to eye disease.
Overview
Isarna Therapeutics, founded in Regensburg in 1998 as Antisense Pharma and now based in Munich, develops antisense oligonucleotides against transforming growth factor beta 2. Trabedersen (AP 12009), infused into the tumour, reached the phase 3 SAPPHIRE trial in anaplastic astrocytoma, which was stopped early, and the company has since focused on ophthalmology. Its trials remain on ClinicalTrials.gov under the company as lead sponsor.
