SymBio Pharmaceuticals
SymBio is a Tokyo company that brought bendamustine (Treakisym) to Japan for lymphoma and myeloma through the local trials it led, and now develops the antiviral brincidofovir for transplant complications.
Overview
SymBio Pharmaceuticals, founded in 2005 in Minato, Tokyo, in-licenses medicines for Japan and runs the domestic trials for approval. It won Japanese approval for bendamustine (Treakisym) in relapsed indolent lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma and later first-line settings, and is developing brincidofovir for adenovirus infection after stem cell transplant. Its phase 3 trials are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under SymBio as lead sponsor.
