Tango Therapeutics

Overview
Tango Therapeutics is a Boston precision oncology company built on synthetic lethality: it uses CRISPR-based functional genomic screens to find targets that cancer cells depend on once they have lost a tumour suppressor gene. Its lead programme, vopimetostat (TNG462), is an MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor for MTAP-deleted cancers, listed in phase 1/2 and phase 3 development in pancreatic, lung and other non-CNS cancers, with a phase 1/2 combination study alongside Revolution Medicines' RAS inhibitors. TNG456, a brain-penetrant PRMT5 inhibitor, is in phase 1/2 for MTAP-deleted glioblastoma. All programmes are wholly owned. Tango listed on Nasdaq in August 2021 through a merger with BCTG Acquisition Corp, a SPAC sponsored by Boxer Capital, with a 186 million US dollar PIPE and about 353 million US dollars in expected total proceeds; Gilead Sciences was an existing shareholder.
