A US charity for people with chondrosarcoma, a rare cancer of cartilage and bone: patient information, a patient registry, a biobank and a tumour board.
The Chondrosarcoma Foundation (CS Foundation) says on its home page that it supports patients, families and caregivers affected by chondrosarcoma and works to improve public information about the disease while building a network of resources for patients and physicians. It was created in memory of Shayna Elise Kramer, who wanted to educate people about chondrosarcoma, and its stated purpose is to educate the public, to support and advocate for patients and families, and to improve treatment and care, including advocating for access to experimental treatment. Its site lists a chondrosarcoma patient registry, a tumour board, a biobank, an awareness day, a think tank with recorded discussion videos and guides on choosing a sarcoma centre and on clinical trials. The Sarcoma Alliance names Jeffrey T. Kramer as its president and founder. The IRS lists it as a 501(c)(3) charity in Bowie, Maryland, with tax exemption from August 2020.
