Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra / CIMA

aka CCUN, Clínica Universidad de Navarra, CIMA Universidad de Navarra

The University of Navarra's cancer centre in Pamplona and Madrid, known for myeloma, immunotherapy research and one of Spain's first proton therapy units.

The Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra combines the university hospital's Pamplona and Madrid campuses with the CIMA research centre. Jesús San Miguel and Bruno Paiva have led international myeloma trials and developed next-generation flow cytometry for minimal residual disease, Ignacio Melero's laboratory is a reference in cancer immunotherapy and intratumoural immunostimulation, and Felipe Prósper's group works on cell therapy and gene therapy. The Madrid campus opened a proton therapy unit in 2020, among the first in Spain. The centre is OECI-accredited and offers early-phase trials, CAR-T and comprehensive genomic profiling to private and insured patients.
