University Medical Center Groningen Comprehensive Cancer Center

The University Medical Center Groningen is the academic hospital of the University of Groningen and the tertiary cancer centre for the northern Netherlands. Its Comprehensive Cancer Center integrates medical oncology, radiotherapy, haematology, surgical oncology, paediatric oncology and molecular imaging, and it opened the first proton therapy centre in the Netherlands in 2018. UMCG is known for molecular imaging with radiolabelled antibodies and drugs (immuno-PET), for lung and breast cancer research, for radiotherapy model-based selection, and for large-scale population research through the Lifelines cohort. It is accredited by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes as a Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
