Barbara Eichhorst
Led CLL13 (GAIA), showing venetoclax-based fixed-duration therapy beats chemoimmunotherapy in fit CLL patients.
Overview
Barbara Eichhorst was principal investigator of CLL13/GAIA, the trial showing venetoclax plus obinutuzumab, with or without ibrutinib, achieves higher MRD-negativity and longer progression-free survival than FCR or BR in fit patients with untreated CLL, extending fixed-duration therapy to the fit population. She led CLL10 (FCR versus BR) and chairs the ESMO CLL guidelines.
