Andrew H. Wei
Australian haematologist who led VIALE-C and QUAZAR AML-001, advancing venetoclax and oral azacitidine maintenance in AML.
Overview
Andrew Wei was principal investigator of VIALE-C (venetoclax plus low-dose cytarabine) and first author of QUAZAR AML-001, which showed oral azacitidine maintenance improves survival after remission in older AML patients, the first maintenance therapy approved in AML. He leads the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group AML programme and the venetoclax-based intensive chemotherapy trials.
