Ching-Hon Pui
Led the St. Jude Total Therapy studies that cure over 90% of children with leukaemia without cranial radiation.
Overview
Ching-Hon Pui has led the St. Jude Total Therapy studies for three decades, showing in Total XV that cranial irradiation can be omitted for all children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when MRD-guided intensification is used, and pushing five-year survival above 90%. He has worked to bring these protocols to China and other middle-income countries and has authored the definitive reviews of childhood ALL.
