Montreal urologist who led the zoledronic acid trials in prostate cancer bone metastases and was lead author of ARANOTE, which established darolutamide plus hormone therapy for metastatic hormone-sensitive disease.
Overview
Fred Saad is chief of urology at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and a leading investigator in advanced prostate cancer. He led the trials that established zoledronic acid for bone metastases from castration-resistant prostate cancer and was first author of the 2024 Journal of Clinical Oncology report of ARANOTE, in which darolutamide plus androgen deprivation therapy improved radiographic progression-free survival in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.
