Shalini Singh
Public health researcher who directs ICMR-NICPR in Noida, the Indian Council of Medical Research's national institute for cancer prevention and research.
Overview
Dr (Prof.) Shalini Singh is Director of the ICMR-National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (ICMR-NICPR) in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a permanent institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research under the Department of Health Research that describes itself as India's premier institution for research in cancer prevention. She signs the 'From the Director's Desk' message on the institute's website, and a WHO FCTC summary of the 7th National Conference on Tobacco or Health (NCTOH 2026), organised by ICMR-NICPR, lists her as session moderator and Director of ICMR-NICPR. The institute grew out of ICMR's Cytology Research Centre, established in 1979, and works on cancer registration, cytology and early detection, tobacco control and tobacco cessation. The institute's websites were under maintenance or blocked automated access at the time of this check, so the director's page was read from an archived copy captured in July 2025.
