A Cambridge, UK, company developing inobrodib, a capsule that blocks two proteins (p300 and CBP) that switch on cancer-driving genes. It is being tested mainly in multiple myeloma that has come back or stopped responding, including in late-stage trials.
CellCentric develops inobrodib (CCS1477), which it describes as an oral, first-in-class small-molecule inhibitor of the bromodomain of the transcriptional co-activators p300 and CBP, which drive genes including MYC and IRF4. The company says inobrodib has been given to over 500 patients across Phase 1/2 studies in solid tumours and blood cancers, and that its main focus is multiple myeloma. In combination with pomalidomide and dexamethasone (InoPd) it is in the Phase 2 DOMMINO-1 study in relapsed or refractory myeloma (NCT07096778) and a Phase 3 trial against standard available therapy (NCT07772024, registered as recruiting from August 2026); a Phase 1/2 study in haematological malignancies tests other combinations, including with elranatamab and teclistamab (NCT04068597). An earlier Phase 1/2 study in advanced solid tumours, including prostate and breast cancer, is completed (NCT03568656). On 6 May 2026 the company announced a $220 million Series D led by Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, with existing investors including RA Capital Management, Forbion, Pfizer, Avego BioScience Capital and American Cancer Society BrightEdge. The release says the FDA granted Fast Track and orphan drug designations to inobrodib for relapsed or refractory myeloma. The company was co-founded with Prof. Azim Surani of the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge, and has US offices near Boston.
