SHR-4849, called IDE849 by IDEAYA Biosciences, is an experimental antibody-drug conjugate aimed at the protein DLL3 in small cell lung cancer and neuroendocrine tumours. Hengrui discovered it and licensed rights outside Greater China to IDEAYA in December 2024.
SHR-4849 is a DLL3-targeting antibody-drug conjugate with a topoisomerase I inhibitor payload, discovered by Jiangsu Hengrui. IDEAYA Biosciences announced an exclusive licence on 29 December 2024 to develop and sell it outside Greater China, with USD 75 million upfront and up to USD 1.045 billion in total payments, and plans to combine it with its PARG inhibitor IDE161; IDEAYA develops it as IDE849. On 7 September 2025 the two companies presented Hengrui's phase 1 data at the IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer: 100 patients received doses from 0.8 to 4.2 mg/kg every three weeks, and in second-line small cell lung cancer the confirmed response rate across all expansion doses was 60.0% (21 of 35), with 4 responses still awaiting confirmation; these are early, unconfirmed-in-part results. Registered trials include Hengrui's phase 1 (NCT06443489) and phase 2 combination studies (NCT07028281, NCT07268040), and IDEAYA's phase 1/2 trial in DLL3-expressing tumours (NCT07174583).
