Centre Léon Bérard

aka CLB, Centre de Lutte Contre le Cancer de Lyon

Lyon's cancer centre, a world reference for sarcoma and rare cancers, led by Jean-Yves Blay, who also presides over UNICANCER.

Founded in 1923, the Centre Léon Bérard is the UNICANCER centre for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the clinical arm of the Cancer Research Center of Lyon (CRCL, with Inserm, CNRS and Lyon 1). Under Jean-Yves Blay it coordinates the French NetSarc sarcoma network and the European Reference Network for rare adult solid cancers (EURACAN). Programmes include the ProfiLER molecular profiling study, a large early-phase unit, breast oncology under Thomas Bachelot, paediatric oncology (IHOPe) and a Lyon Integrated Cancer Research Site (LYriCAN). The International Agency for Research on Cancer sits in the same city.
