Rambam Health Care Campus

aka Rambam Medical Center, Rambam Hospital

Northern Israel's tertiary hospital, affiliated with the Technion, where the ubiquitin-proteasome discoveries behind proteasome inhibitors and degraders were made.

Rambam Health Care Campus is the largest hospital in northern Israel and the teaching hospital of the Technion's Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, where Aaron Ciechanover and Avram Hershko carried out the Nobel-recognised work on ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation that underlies bortezomib and targeted protein degraders. Its Joseph Fishman Oncology Center provides medical, radiation and surgical oncology, haematology and transplantation, and paediatric haemato-oncology for a diverse population; Irit Ben-Aharon leads gastrointestinal oncology with a research focus on early-onset colorectal cancer. Rambam participates in Israeli cooperative and international trials and hosts translational research in cancer metabolism and immunology.
