Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG)

The Japan Clinical Oncology Group, established in 1990 and based at the National Cancer Center in Tokyo, is Japan's national cooperative group and defines surgical and perioperative standards in gastric and oesophageal cancer. JCOG9501 compared D2 gastrectomy with and without para-aortic dissection, JCOG1109 tested neoadjuvant docetaxel, cisplatin and fluorouracil in oesophageal cancer, and its lung and colorectal surgical trials set standards across Japan, with Haruhiko Fukuda and Yuko Kitagawa among the people linked. OnCo connects it to gastric, oesophageal and non-small-cell lung cancer, to the Japanese oncology guidelines collection, and to member hospitals including Aichi Cancer Center and Kyoto, Keio and Kyushu university hospitals.
