Overview
Founded in 1991, AGITG (operating publicly as the GI Cancer Institute) designs and runs investigator-initiated trials across Australia, New Zealand and international partners, with the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre as its coordinating centre. TOPGEAR tested preoperative chemoradiotherapy in gastric cancer, INTEGRATE established regorafenib activity in refractory gastro-oesophageal cancer, and ASCOLT tested aspirin after colorectal cancer surgery. DYNAMIC-III extends the Australian ctDNA-guided adjuvant programme that began with the DYNAMIC study into stage III colon cancer. AGITG also runs hepatocellular, biliary and neuroendocrine tumour trials and partners with TROG and ANZUP.
