Liverpool medical oncologist, second author of ESPAC-4 and co-lead of ESPAC5, who directs the Liverpool Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre and leads the national GIRFT review of pancreatic cancer services.
Daniel Palmer is Professor in Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine at the University of Liverpool. GIRFT's workstream page says he has been the North West Cancer Research chair and honorary consultant in medical oncology at Liverpool since 2011, sits on the UK National Cancer Research Network upper GI group and its hepatobiliary and pancreatic subgroups, directs the Cancer Research UK and NIHR Liverpool Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre with a portfolio of early-phase trials for pancreatic cancer, and is joint clinical lead of the GIRFT pancreatic cancer review whose national report was published in November 2025. He was second author of ESPAC-4 and co-led ESPAC5.
