The North Western Hepatobiliary Centre at Aintree, serving Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man; HPB surgeon Hassan Malik co-wrote the BSG cholangiocarcinoma guideline.
Overview
Liverpool University Hospitals is one of the trusts the National Pancreatic Cancer Audit identifies as an HPB specialist centre for England; Pancreatic Cancer UK lists its HPB team as covering Merseyside, Cheshire, the Isle of Man and North Wales. The liver surgery unit at Aintree (the North Western Hepatobiliary Centre) is on AMMF's list of centres with cholangiocarcinoma expertise. Non-surgical treatment is given with The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
