Leeds Cancer Centre, St James's University Hospital

The Leeds Cancer Centre at St James's University Hospital is among the UK's largest single-site cancer centres, serving Yorkshire with radiotherapy, surgery, haematology and paediatric oncology. University of Leeds research includes Philip Quirke's pathology work that established circumferential resection margin assessment in rectal cancer, the Leeds Clinical Trials Research Unit that ran FOxTROT (neoadjuvant chemotherapy in colon cancer) and UK myeloma trials, and melanoma epidemiology and genetics. Leeds was an early UK adopter of the Elekta Unity MR-linac and hosts the Leeds Institute of Medical Research at St James's and a CRUK Centre. The centre also has a national profile in teenage and young adult cancer and in health data research.
